Responsibilities:
The standing committees of the CSU are key parts of its governing structure. These committees are composed of members of Council, members of the Executive, and students-at-large (undergraduate members of Concordia’s student body).
The purpose of these committees is to bring Councillors and students into the planning of the Union’s activities and the decisions made by these committees are reviewed by council. In addition to these standing committees, the CSU appoints students-at-large to university committees. Students at large are essential to ensuring that students’ concerns and positions are represented at these important university bodies. Unlike the CSU committees, these University committees are chaired by University administrators, and elected by both staff and students. Participation in these committees is an important responsibility.
Essential Requirements
- A desire to ensure student representation on campus
- Ability to exercise discretion when handling sensitive topics
- Must be a member of the CSU (an undergraduate student at Concordia currently enrolled in at least 1 credit)
