We are seeking to appoint students to serve on the Tribunal Pool for the 2026-27 academic year! The Office of Student Tribunals is responsible for hearings provided for in Concordia’s Code of Rights and Responsibilities, the Academic Code of Conduct, the Academic Re-evaluation Procedure, the Graduate Academic Appeals Procedures, and any other Codes or Policies that may be adopted which refer to the Tribunal Hearing Pools. As a member of the Pool, you may be selected to sit on the panel for hearings per the policies listed above.
It is mandated in Concordia’s policies that students be represented on hearing panels for disciplinary procedures. When a hearing is scheduled, students are randomly selected from the Tribunal Pool to serve on the panel. Your duties on this panel include:
- Reviewing evidence packages ahead of hearing
- Attending the hearing
- Providing your insight and judgment during the deliberation period in the determination of the results (i.e upholding or dismissing the charges, and the sanction).
Per the requirements from Policy on the Establishment of Tribunal Hearing Pools:
“In order to be eligible, undergraduate students shall have successfully completed, in the previous academic year, a minimum of nine (9) credits in an undergraduate program and graduate students shall be registered in a graduate program. Students who are in failed standing, in conditional standing or on academic probation, or who have been sanctioned under the Code of Rights and Responsibilities (BD-3) or the Academic Code of Conduct within the 3 years previous to their nomination are not eligible.”
